In my eyes, Griffith is a good villain because of the depth of his character and how relatable he is. The depth that this entire situation added to his character makes him a fantastic villain. Someone you love just as much as you hate.

Gut’s is literally not strong enough to kill Griffith himself. Guts himself has trouble fighting against Zodd who bows down to Griffith as a master because Griffith defeated him in battle. Also Guts wouldn’t stand a chance against Griffiths army of Falconia.

Griffith/Femto is evil because he inflicted extreme pain on Casca and Guts during the Eclipse for nothing other than his own amusement and a petty sense of revenge.

Griffith is just an archtype of the savior/ beautiful one who can do no evil. Femto is no friend of anyone their King. Griffith sacrificed his whole damn Band of the Hawk, that alone definitely makes him a “bad” guy. He’s definitely a monster, he just looks like a hero still in his human form.
